Protect the Equal Pay Data Collection

Champion policies and laws that help women and girls achieve their potential at every stage of their lives.

Campaign Leader: National Women’s Law Center

City, State: Nationwide

About the Campaign:

The National Women’s Law Center has worked for more than 40 years to protect and promote equality and opportunity for women and families. We champion policies and laws that help women and girls achieve their potential at every stage of their lives — at school, at work, at home, and in retirement. Our staff are committed advocates who take on the toughest challenges, especially for the most vulnerable women.

The wage gap is a harsh reality for women, regardless of education and work experience — and it only gets worse as women’s careers progress. The wage gap typically translates into more than $10,000 per year in lost earnings for women. The good news is that there’s a clear path ahead to fair pay for women.

We’ve been working for more than four decades to make sure men and women earn the same pay for the same work — and women’s wages have come a long way in that time. But there’s still a lot more to be done.

What We’re Fighting For

How We Will Win

Protect the Equal Pay Data Collection

Some Members of Congress are trying to hide race and gender wage gaps under the rug by blocking an important equal pay initiative that collects pay data from corporations. Without this data, it will be even harder to identify and stop pay discrimination that especially harms women of color.

Tell Congress to Protect the Equal Pay Data Collection and help bridge the race and gender wage gap.
