Support Mental Health Care for Black Women and Girls

With therapy sessions in the U.S. typically costing anywhere from $60 - $250-- even with insurance, the prevalent and ingrained stigma surrounding mental health in many communities, and the fact that the vast majority of therapists in this country are white, it is often difficult for Black women and girls to access therapy when they need it. Loveland Foundation is changing that.

All events for this campaign support the Loveland Foundation's Therapy Fund. With the barriers affecting access to treatment by members of diverse ethnic and racial groups. Loveland Therapy Fund provides financial assistance to Black women and girls nationally seeking therapy.

Kalā Yoga is a warm, inclusive, globally inspired, art-filled sanctuary and supportive yoga community… See more

Kalā Yoga is a warm, inclusive, globally inspired, art-filled sanctuary and supportive yoga community in Bushwick, Brooklyn that seeks to illuminate the yogic teachings, elevate happiness, and help others find a portal to a more tranquil and fulfilling way of living. Grounded in rich yoga traditions, while also celebrating modern practices that support overall health, Kalā Yoga offers a range of thoughtfully designed classes that appeal to both advanced practitioners and beginners including heated (around 90 degrees) and non-heated Yoga (around 75 - 80 degrees), Tone & Flow, Pilates, Yoga Nidra and Meditation. In Sanskrit, kalā translates to art, and is more broadly defined as the magical expression of all that we are capable of. In celebration of artful magic, our studio also serves as an art gallery and globally inspired boutique for local artists and artisans to share their work with the public. We frequently host special events, including art openings, live music, workshops, pop-up shops and guest speakers. We welcome artists, musicians, makers, yogis, authors, and collaborators of ALL kinds to share in our space. Kate Sullivan founded Kalā Yoga out of a heartfelt desire to honor her lineage of Tibettan Buddhist yoga, and to create space for a community that also honors the wide breadth of the many beautiful yoga traditions. Our overall goal is to make the yogic teachings accessible for all - on the mat and into everyday living. We believe in finding beauty in the present moment. We believe in loving kindness and compassion. We believe in learning to explore and discover the truth that lies within. We believe that happiness is available right here, right now. And we believe in you. See Less
