Join Denver-based comic, auctioneer, and emcee Debbie Scheer as she leads a panel on gender pay equity- two issues that in 2018 are still affecting women across ALL industries. Held in the beautiful hangar in Stanley Marketplace, you’ll enjoy bites and beverages, share some laughs, and hear from local community leaders on all the ways you- yes, you!- can make an impact on achieving gender pay equity for women.
ABOUT OUR PANELISTS:
Janae Burris is a comedian, writer, and actor in Denver, Colorado. She has been a featured performer at Portland’s Bridgetown Comedy Festival and Limestone Comedy Festival in Bloomington, Indiana. She is a regular at Comedy Works in Denver and was the winner of the 2016 Comedy Works New Faces Contest. Catch her live at comedy venues throughout the Colorado Front Range and online as the co-host of Denver Post’s “The Cannabist Show.”
Theresa Marchetta is an award-winning News Anchor and Reporter, mother of 3 amazing girls and a shameless advocate for the truth and your right to know. Theresa has been a part of the Denver7 team since 2003. Theresa has been awarded the Emmy for Best News Anchor in the region – twice- and has also been recognized with multiple Emmys for Journalistic Enterprise, Investigative Reporting and for Prime-Time Specials she wrote and produced. Theresa’s work exposing catastrophic errors at the Department of Corrections was recognized with a regional Edward R. Murrow Award and a Regional Associated Press Award. Her work has also been recognized with awards from the Colorado Broadcasters Association and the Colorado Association of Black Journalists, among others. Theresa is active in community causes, volunteering and helping to raise funds for several organizations. Theresa grew up in San Marcos in southern California and started her TV news career in Yuma, Arizona. She worked for the CBS affiliate in Green Bay, Wisconsin and the ABC affiliate, WPLG-TV Channel 10, in Miami before coming to Denver.
Gloria Neal is an award-winning multi-media journalist whose versatility on air and in the community has made her a much sought-after talent. She has over 30 years of uniquely blended experience on tv, on radio and print as a television news anchor and reporter, radio talk-show host, radio news reporter, producer, and columnist. Currently, Gloria is the President & CEO of Glo Knows Unlimited, LLC —a multi-media management company specializing in image consulting, media training and crisis communications. In addition, she is a featured emcee and keynote speaker, as well as a moderator and motivational speaker. Gloria is also a big believer in community. She has been heavily involved in philanthropic and community-driven causes throughout her journalistic career—from serving as a past board member of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce to the American Red Cross — Mile High Chapter to being President of the Colorado Association of Black Journalists; she was also involved in Greater Atlanta United Way; The National Coalition of 100 Black Women of Metro Atlanta; Atlanta Association of Black Journalists, as well as the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).
CHARLOTTE N. SWEENEY
Charlotte N. Sweeney is a plaintiff’s employment law attorney in Denver, CO. While her practice is focused on ending all types of employment discrimination, Charlotte has a passion for representing women in equal pay, sexual harassment, and family responsibility discrimination cases. Over the past two decades, she has represented hundreds of women in sex discrimination and pay equity cases, both in the private and public employment sectors. She currently represents six of the seven University of Denver female Full law professors in their battle for equal pay. In addition, Charlotte serves on the Colorado Women’s Bar Association’s public policy committee and pay equity subcommittee, which has just recently succeeded in helping draft and introduce a comprehensive equal pay act in the Colorado legislature.
Michelle Campbell is the Chief Operations Officer for Campbell Litigation, P.C. providing firm organization operations, human resource, business development and consulting to our clients. Michelle has served as an organizational development advisor for 25 years, focusing on organizational effectiveness and employment policy matters. She is a trained engineer and counselor with national experience in developing effective operational and employee systems that impact productive work environments. Michelle has written, facilitated, and served as senior advisor on various corporate organizational transformation projects, contributing to her expertise in diversity and inclusion. Her publications, workshops, and, keynote addresses include topics on organizational effectiveness and incorporate best practices in serving and establishing policies on the basis of race, gender, sexual harassment, disability, and age.

Debbie Scheer is a Professional Speaker, Humorist, Auctioneer/Emcee and show Producer who specializes in weaving humor throughout everything she does. Regardless of the setting she effortlessly creates a safe space for her audience to let down their guard, feel vulnerable and engage fully in the experience she creates. Debbie passionately believes that if we can laugh about it we can learn about it and if we can learn about it we can engage in healthy conversations around just about any topic. Debbie has produced two comedy/education shows and a one woman show because she believes that talking and learning about anything is possible when the topic is lovingly wrapped in a baby bjorn of humor.
