MEET YOUR HOST, The Next Collective

Caroline Edwards, Ramona Orley, and Natalie Berkus saw an opportunity to expand on the incredible work done by the LAWC to elect Democratic women to higher office by creating a sister-committee, organized and fueled by the next generation of women working to affect change at a grassroots level. Thus, THE NEXT COLLECTIVE was born. We are passionate about supporting the best female Democratic candidates in the most critical races, coalescing around important policy issues where female influence can have a large impact, and empowering women to use their voices to improve our legislative system.

The Next Collective:

How We Are Making a Difference

Write Postcards to Reps

Slow and steady wins the race. Snail mail is still relevant when it comes to contacting elected officials. Signing post-cards give you the opportunity to share personal anecdotes about why you care about your cause. Plus, we'll take care of the nitty gritty and mail it on your behalf.

Phone Banking

Talk isn't cheap - this type yields high dividends. Phone banking differs from calling your reps in that the tables are turned - rather than ringing an elected official, you'll be ringing constituents in key districts to advocate on behalf of candidates you want to see elected or policy you want to see enacted. Bonus points for the warm fuzzies you'll feel after your first call.
