Michelle Young + The Collection - Michelle Young and the Collection is a Los Angeles-based band, led by lead singer and poet Michelle Young with collaborator and co-writer Tony Schmitz on keys. The Soulful Alt-Rock group's live shows are more of an experience than a typical show--of the shows, Michelle says,
"Our desire is that audiences walk away with the knowledge that they are not alone, and it's okay to be human. We live in a crazy world and we're all trying to work through our humanity. We want to work through it together.”
On that note, Michelle is also an advocate for mental health issues on social media, in the art she creates and through community involvement. She spent 4.5 years working in the field of psychology as a Behavioral Therapist, 10 years as a mentor for youth and young adults (ages 4-29), was raised by a pastor and businessman who also has a mental illness, and has committed her life to building community, supporting artists and using the arts to give back. Tony has worked with kids for 15 years, developing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) for those with challenges with learning in typical school environments, and also loves to spend what time he can coaching soccer.
X.ARI - It is X. ARI’s mission to not only raise awareness about mental health but to also focus on using her platform to empower others to turn their pain into power. Musically, X. ARI deftly dances in and out of genre lines, from entrancing alt-pop to gritty hip-hop to electronic elegance. At the same time, her visceral lyrics transmit messages of hope as often as they ponder tragedy. It is the mixture of those two elements when X.ARI’s sound and voice come to life.
Text Advocacy to Reps
Using text keywords in phone-to-action is a simple and quick way to contact your reps about issues you're passionate about. Your host will guide you through three easy steps to contact your representatices via email.
Social Media Advocacy
Channel your channels for change instead of avocado toast. Posting on social media gives you the ability to direct messages and photos at specific reps through public and highly trafficked channels. These days, elected officials have staff members specifically designated to monitor incoming inquiries, which means they're always listening- especially if this content comes through en masse. Not only will reps be listening, but your social network will be watching as well.
MEET YOUR HOST, Ninety3Impact
We’re aiming to change the world one show at a time. Our goal is to permanently intertwine our entertainment with social good. Every day, we strive to further our support of artists that use their music and influence for the betterment of social impact missions and causes. Each Ninety3 showcase is centered around a particular cause, story, or group of people, and figuring out how we can use entertainment to bring more awareness and support to these areas.
