Dinner with a side of advocacy benefitting DACA and DREAMers.
Denver for DACA is back! This time we're teaming up with Broncos Superbowl Champion Ryan Harris and nine-time entrepreneur Andy Seth for cerveza and dinner with a side of advocacy. In between courses, we'll show our support for Dreamers by taking a stand for the passage of a clean DREAM Act. Every ticket includes dinner, two cervezas, advocacy materials, a donation to the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition, and tax & tip. Denver for DACA organizes real change for Dreamers through shared meals and experiences. Attendees enjoy a delicious meal while learning more about DACA, writing letters to elected officials, and spreading awareness on social media to increase our impact. Dreamers are our friends, our neighbors, and our coworkers, and over good food & drinks, we’ll get off the sidelines together and take action to defend their status. Tickets are $35 pre-purchase and $45 at the door.
At SameSide, our mission is two-fold. One, we want to inspire people to host experiences that make the world a better place, and help our hosts earn money in the process. And two, we want to inspire people to attend those experiences – to turn off the TV for a night, get out of the house, and go be a part of something amazing. Our goal is to reach the millions of people who want to “get involved” and “do good” but aren’t sure where to begin, or feel like they just don’t have time. At SameSide, we believe that getting involved doesn’t necessarily mean “marching in a protest” or “attending a fundraiser.” There are lots of other ways to make a positive contribution. We want to show people hundreds of options they hadn’t considered before. Our core mission is to inspire people to “get up and do something.” Big, small, close to home, or across the country…just find something that excites you and do it.
Slow and steady wins the race. Snail mail is still relevant when it comes to contacting elected officials. Signing post-cards give you the opportunity to share personal anecdotes about why you care about your cause. Plus, we'll take care of the nitty gritty and mail it on your behalf.
Channel your channels for change instead of avocado toast. Posting on social media gives you the ability to direct messages and photos at specific reps through public and highly trafficked channels. These days, elected officials have staff members specifically designated to monitor incoming inquiries, which means they're always listening- especially if this content comes through en masse. Not only will reps be listening, but your social network will be watching as well.
